The most common areas where Marcote coatings can be found within the printing industry are ink non-stick, adhesive non-stick and low friction.

Ink non-stick is a key benefit for rolls that are in contact with wet ink, such as on a flexographic printing press. The correct use of a fluoropolymer coating will prevent the wet ink from adhering to the roll, thus allowing a faster throughput of the printed product without ink offset.

Where required, a level of traction can be imparted by the use of a thermally sprayed layer beneath the fluoropolymer without adversely affecting the ink non-stick.

Ink non-stick fluoropolymers are also used on ink trays, pans and tins. In these cases, the coating allows for easier and faster cleaning, so saving time and money as well as eliminating colour cross-contamination.

Where adhesive paper is being printed, on labels, for example, our adhesive non-stick coatings come into their own. The coatings are used on waste matrix take-off rolls, die cutters, glue tanks and waste removal ducting. 

The time and money saved when cleaning a Marcote coated glue tank significantly outweigh the coating cost.

For all printing lines, the use of a low-friction coating will assist in the movement of the printing stock at each end of the line.
