Converting
Marcote’s coatings support OEMs and end users in the converting industry with tailored non-stick, low-friction, traction, and easy-clean solutions.
Converting
Converting is the broad name given to industries that convert a material into something else. For example, the manufacture of toilet rolls. Here, paper on huge rolls is laminated, aerated and rolled onto a cardboard core before being cut down to the size we go out and buy. Equally, changing a roll of non-woven material into a packet of wet wipes would be classed as converting.
Other examples of converting would be the manufacture of nappies (diapers), kitchen towels, feminine hygiene, wound management, adhesive tapes and packaging films.
Marcote works with both the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and end users.
Because the converting industry is so broad in nature, the coatings used will vary according to the specific process requirements. Typical properties that Marcote coatings offer include non-stick, low friction, traction and easy clean.
Both fluoropolymers and plasma coatings are used.
