Polyurethane

Polyurethane

Polyurethane Coatings alter the surface hardness of any substrate to provide abrasion resistance, friction control and noise reduction.

Polyurethane Coating Technology

What It Is

Polyurethane is an elastic, rubber like polymer which is applied in liquid form using either an airless spray gun system, cartridge system or a conventional HVLP spray gun.

Performance Properties

  • Abrasion resistance
  • Low Friction
  • Hydrophobic
  • Electrical insulation
  • Chemical Resistance

Prior to the application of any polyurethane all substrates must be cleaned thoroughly and this is done via a sandblasting process, this sandblasted finish provides a key for the coating to adhere to. Polyurethane is applied at room temperature and cures within 12-24 hours.

Polyurethane Coating Properties

Polyurethane coatings alter the surface hardness of any substrate they are applied to creating either a soft, high traction finish or a hard, low friction finish. It is high gloss in its appearance and has exceptional non weathering performance.

The versatility of polyurethane means it can be used within the food, packaging, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, marine and automotive industries.

Common parts to be coated are vibratory feeder bowls, vibratory lateral feeders, pumps, turbines, valve bodies, mixers, pickers and pipework.
